The Founder
Thammes Madsen.
Captain. Coach. Certified.
25 years in commercial aviation — from UN missions in Afghanistan and Chad to Captain on the Boeing 767. Thammes Madsen built the 6A Framework because he lived the problem: a career that demands everything from the human body and mind, with almost no structured support to match.
A Breatheology® Certified Instructor trained by world freediving champion Stig Severinsen, with over 10 years of active breathwork practice inside an aviation career — and formal training from Dan Brulé's O2 Collective, Mindvalley, and beyond. The 6A System is the result of all of it.

The Story
From the cockpit
to the curriculum
The 6A Framework was not designed in a boardroom or a research lab. It was built over 25 years of commercial flying — from UN humanitarian missions in conflict zones to a decade on the B767 as Captain — and refined through every time zone, every night departure, and every layover that tested the limits of human performance.
Breathwork has been the constant thread throughout — practised inside an active cockpit career for over 10 years before formal certification. The 6A System is what happens when lived experience meets rigorous training.
Ab-Initio to Multi-Crew
Completed ab-initio integrated training at Oxford Air Training School, followed by a King Air 200 multi-pilot type rating. The foundation of a career built on precision, discipline, and continuous learning.
Flying for the UN
Flew BE20 King Air missions for the United Nations in Afghanistan, Chad, and Ivory Coast — some of the most demanding, high-stakes operating environments on earth. This is where performance under pressure stopped being a concept and became a daily requirement.
First Officer — ATR & BE200
Joined Danish Air Transport as First Officer on ATR 42/72 and BE200, building thousands of hours across European and international routes. Captaincy on the BE90 followed — single-pilot operations demanding complete self-reliance.
First Officer — B767, Star Air
Over a decade on the Boeing 767 with Star Air, flying cargo operations across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. Irregular schedules, night operations, and sustained high-workload flying made the need for a structured performance system undeniable.
Captain — B767, Star Air
Command of the B767 — the culmination of 25 years of professional flying. With EASA Class One Medical maintained and an ATPL on a Danish licence, the focus shifted from surviving the demands of the career to building a system that helps every pilot thrive within them.
The Breatheology Certification
Certified as a Breatheology® Instructor by Stig Severinsen — world freediving champion and creator of the Breatheology Method — completing both Fundamentals 2.0 and the full Instructor programme. This formalised over 10 years of applying breathwork practice within an active aviation career.
Breathwork Fundamentals — O2 Collective
Completed the 9-hour Breathwork Fundamentals certification with the O2 Collective, directed by Dan Brulé — AFAA and NASM approved. A second lineage of breathwork knowledge, adding depth to the methodology behind the 6A System.
Air Aviation Academy
Launched airaviationacademy.com to bring the 6A Framework to pilots and operators worldwide. The mission: safer flights, longer careers, and pilots who thrive — not just survive.
Credentials & Training
The qualifications behind the programme
Every methodology in the 6A System is underpinned by formal training from recognised authorities — not self-study, not theory alone.
Aviation Qualifications
What We Stand For
The principles behind the programme
Built by a Pilot, for Pilots
Every element of the 6A Framework was developed inside an active aviation career — not in a classroom, not in a research lab. The UN missions. The B767 night departures. The layovers in four time zones in five days. This is where the system was forged.
Honest About What Was Tested
The 6A System has been personally applied across 25+ years of commercial flying. Long-haul protocols have been validated through pilots flying international routes — because intellectual honesty matters as much as the results themselves.
Breathwork as the Master Lever
After 10+ years of applying breathwork in an active cockpit career, and formal certification under two of the world's leading breathwork authorities, the conclusion is clear: breath is the single most powerful performance tool a pilot has access to — and almost no one is using it.
Long Careers, Not Short Sprints
The goal is not peak performance for one flight. It is a 30-year career that ends on your terms — with your Class One medical intact, your mind sharp, and your family still intact. That is what this programme is built to deliver.

"My mission is simple: help pilots fly higher, perform longer, and live better — for the benefit of every passenger, every operator, and every family waiting at home."
